Ok! So the new year has started, and already, I feel like I am light years behind everyone else. I have attended several workshops related to teaching, learning, and technology. Still, I struggle to apply much of what I have learned. I have been teaching for over 13 years, but I still feel like I am growing, learning, and changing. If there is anyone out there that has any wonderful ideas on how to be more organized, deal with super behavior issues, create and modify effective learning centers for 4-5 levels of students, and include technology on a more independent and consistent basis, PLEASE respond!
In all honesty, I hit this point every year. I don't usually give up, even though I think about it, say it, and even pray for GOD to open up the next window. Still, I know what needs to be done, and I have every intention of working my butt off to help my students exceed.
I am still looking for additional resources and ideas that will help me become that superteacher that I see myself as. If you are in the same boat, email me. I can share what I have and know, and prayerfully, you will do the same!
Educators, keep your heads up! Thanksgiving will be here sooner than we know!!!!!! Lol.
BE BLESSED!

It's Summer!!! Keep learning!
Great Literacy Apps
Hey strangers! Guess what? It's summer break! And as crazy as it is, now that my year-round school will no longer be year-round, I have more time to rest and reflect. So as I rest, I actually now have the energy to organize and find resources that will hopefully make my life much, much easier during the upcoming school year.
So, right now, I am probably blogging to myself, but I truly plan to blog more, both for self-reflection and to resources to help anyone that might stumble by and to help me remember!
So, I found this site that should have great apps for kids that struggle with reading, writing, comprehension, and phonics. I have only seen a couple, but I wanted to share before I forgot! Lol. Check them out and let me know which ones work best. Also, if you have any other resources, please share.
Signing off.......a newly refreshed, more innovative teacher!

Frozen Curriculum!
Hey followers! Well, I am finally digging out from the snow and ICE here in Atlanta. Honestly, I am really concerned about the 2+ weeks of class that my students have missed. Not sure what my plan will be, but I am sure that "there's an app for that"! Lol. Just found some new apps to try out with my kiddies. Stay tuned for more info!

New Year, New Experiences!!!
Happy New Year! Hear is a great resource! I recently met a real opera singer! Her name is Indra Thomas. Not only is she also African-American, but she is also from Atlanta. Soprano Indra Thomas has performed in concerts all over the world, including Il Pirata in New York and Aidas throughout France. I have invited her to speak with my students about her travels and many, many experiences. Please check out her bio and blog to hear her beautiful voice and get information about her upcoming events.
